On April 25, 2012 a delegation of Milan Polytechnic University visited the St.Petersburg State Polytechnical University. Prof. Giuliano Noci, PhD, Vice-Rector for Russian Affairs, and Dr. Ilaria Fava, Head of the International Relations of the School of Management, were members of the delegation.
The purpose of the visit was to carry negotiations for extending the spheres of co-operation between the leading polytechnic universities of Russia and Italy.
In the framework of the visit, the delegation has held negotiations with Prof. Dmitry G. Arseniev, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and visited the International Graduate School of Management and laboratories of the Research Innovation Institute of Mathematical Modeling and Intelligence Control Systems
In the course of the negotiations both parties were pleased to note the dynamically developing co-operation in the area of Information Technology for Design with the Department of Information Technology for Design of the Institute of International Educational Programs. The field of cooperation was joint educational programmes, and joint conferences together with academic excanges both of students and faculty.
For the purpose of developing the scientific co-operation the following areas of common interest were revealed: Power Engineering; Motor Car Construction; Civil Engineering; Ecology; Material Research; Nanobiotechnology; Economics and Management.
The parties agreed to invite an official delegation of Milan Polytechnic University to visit the SPbSPU in June 2012. The purpose of visit will be signing a new agreement, and conducting the Research Forum for establishing direct contacts of representatives of academic schools of both universities.
