In St.Petersburg on SPbSPU territory it will build the first house with a zero level power consumption on the Finnish technology. A student of Polytechnical University designed a house project.
The house will produce the necessary amount of energy (without connecting to the central city networks). This is a joint project of the St.Petersburg State Polytechnical University and the Finnish company SPU Oy, which specializes in energy efficient insulation material in civil engineering. House of the new type is different from other buildings because it is independently produces more energy per year than it consumes. So the overall level of its annual energy consumption is zero.
For involvement in the project future russian engineers among the students of Polytechnical University was organized competition for the best architectural project of the building, which was won by Klim Petrov. Ivan Sled' won the second place in the competition, Oleg Orlov - the third.
Construction of energy efficient house is planned to begin in the next few months and be completed by the end of 2012.
