On April 26-27, 2012 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on the basis of the Kazakh-British Technical University, was held the main event of the student Olympics "IT-Planet 2011/12" - international finals, with the participation of the best students from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belarus. Polytechnical University presented a team of five students Faculty of Management and Informational Technology, Computer Science Faculty and Faculty of Physics and Mechanics.

Polytechnical University team has demonstrated excellent results. Tatiana Petrova (Faculty of Management and Informational Technology) and Dmitry Kotov (Faculty of Physics and Mechanics) took the first places in contests for Oracle and 1C. Peter Pchelko (Computer Science Faculty) has received an award for second prize in nomination Oracle Java.

The main prize of winner was the recognition of potential employers, some participants have already received from the partners of the IT-Olympics offers to come in for an interview.
