EXCHANGE PROGRAMS

 

St.Petersburg State Polytechnical University has Agreements on scientific and academic cooperation with more then 160 foreign Universities from 38 countries and about a half of them concerns academic mobility as well.

 

SPbSPU cooperates with various foreign organizations which support academic mobility programs implementation offering scholarships for outgoing SPbSPU students and incoming to SPbSPU international students as well as for staff exchanges.

 

SPbSPU welcomes foreign students providing free short-term education for those of them coming from partner Universities in the framework of Academic mobility Agreements. Russian students wishing to study abroad are invited to join our exchange programs as well.

  


 

 


 

 

Academic Mobility Department is a structural unit of SPbSPU International Administration aimed at administrational support and development of academic exchanges between SPbSPU and partner foreign Universities in accordance with the Lisbon Declaration and the Bologna Process. Strengthening relationships between students, lecturers and researches of different countries, academic mobility nowadays became one of the key activities of all the Universities.

 

Academic mobility of the University is developing on the base of Bilateral Agreements on exchange, joint degree programs, integrated programs and within project and programs initiated and financed by national agencies and services of academic mobility of foreign countries. SPbSPU has Agreements on scientific and academic cooperation with more then 160 foreign Universities from 47 countries and about a half of them concerns academic mobility as well. SPbSPU welcomes foreign students providing free short-term education for those of them coming from partner Universities in the framework of Academic mobility Agreements.

 

SPbSPU cooperates with various foreign organizations which support academic mobility programs implementation offering scholarships for outgoing SPbSPU students and incoming to SPbSPU international students as well as for staff exchanges.

 

All exchanges are coordinated by the Department of Academic Mobility. Incoming students participate in courses taught in English or in Russian. All documents for international students are given in ECTS format and SPSPU's students records abroad can be recognized by the University.

 

Outgoing students are selected on base of their academic results and language proficiency and receive full information packages and instruction on their study abroad.

 

Academic mobility Department implements academic mobility coordination by means of:

    • Information support of the University departments and units about academic mobility programs and competitions announced by the European Commission, National Agencies and partner Universities;
    • Development and coordination of mobility programs for the academic staff and students;
    • Analysis and assessment of programs efficiency and new partners search;
    • Assistance for incoming and outgoing students with the necessary application documents and information.

 


 

 

Admission requirements for exchange students:

To be enrolled to SPbSPU as an exchange student one should:

    • Contact home University International Office in order to check if there is an Agreement on cooperation and exchanges between two Universities. In case there is no Agreement on cooperation between the SPbSPU and the student's home University he should contact the Marketing (Academic) Department (SPbSPU) marketing@imop.spbstu.ru 

 

    • Exchange students from partner Universities should send to the Department of Academic Mobility SPbSPU on e-mail: interdep@imop.spbstu.ru or by fax: +7(812) 534-13-65 not later then 01 June for autumn semester and 01 November for spring semester the following papers:  

        • official letter from student's home University giving him/her the status of exchange student

        • filled in Application form where the sphere of student's interests should be indicated. Though exchange students participating in the programs taught in English choose the courses before arrival students participating in the programs taught in Russian will make the final decision on the list of courses on their meeting with the academic advisor at SPbSPU since the final timetable for the coming semester is usually ready few days before the beginning of semester.

        • transcript of University records

        • CV

        • motivation letter

        • the copy of the passport pages with the photo, name and surname, birth date and passport validity terms

        • the information on the place of visa receiving (name of the city in home country where there is Russian Consulate and where student will apply for visa)

 

All these papers should be send to the Department of Academic Mobility either by fax: +7(812) 534-13-65 or as a scan version  on e-mail: interdep@imop.spbstu.ru not later then 01 June for autumn semester and 01 November for spring semester. Late applications will not be considered.  

 

On receiving the official Invitation from SPbSPU exchange student should to get visa in the RF Embassy or Consulate General in candidate's dwelling country. 

 

On arriving to St.Petersburg exchange student is required to come to Academic Mobility Department of SPbSPU for registration the next working day after student's crossing the boarder of RF and arrival to Saint-Petersburg.

 

Incoming exchange students if they would like SPbSPU International Services to reserve accommodation for them in the hostel on the University campus are requested to fill in the Housing Application form and to send the scan of signed Housing form by e-mail to interdep@imop.spbstu.ru . Academic Mobility department doesn't assist exchange students in renting a room in a Russian family flat.

The required documents on arrival:   

    1. National passport
    2. Visa copy (with the aim of staying in Russia to be pointed out as "Studying in the Spastic").
    3. An original medical certificate. All incoming student should pass AIDS check-up test in Saint Petersburg within 5 days on their arrival
    4. Medical insurance (can also be obtained in Saint-Petersburg on arrival)
    5. 10 photos 3x4 sm

    SPbSPU students wishing to participate in Exchange programs can fill the Application form to inform the Academic Mobility Department on their interest. Filled in Application form should be sent to the Academic Mobility Department interdep@imop.spbstu.ru . We doesn't guarantee you the exchange place with the scholarship but we will include you to the list of selecting students.   All the information on the scholarships available for participation in exchange programs with partner Universities and organisations is always forwarded to the Vice-Deans of each Faculty for their consideration. So the final decision on selected students from SPbSPU is made by each respective Faculty and SPbSPU students wishing to participate in exchange programs are also advised to contact Vice-Dean for International Relations of their Faculty to inform on their interest.
